Built in 1904 as the North Quay Warehouse and converted into a luxury hotel in 1990, the V&A Hotel is named in honour of the Queen of England and her son who visited the Cape in 1870 when Prince Alfred officially opened the Breakwater Basin – today’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Rooms have been designed and appointed with a carefully thought out range of extra features. Views of Table Mountain or the Piazza can be seen from the automated windows. We offer a total of 26 Superior Loft Rooms. The average room size is 36m²

Piazza Facing Rooms

  • Views of the vivacious Piazza are experienced from their Piazza Facing Rooms. Enjoy the vibrancy of the waterfront culture with buskers and dancers who bring indigenous music to life… They offer a total of 34 Piazza Facing Rooms. The average room size is 38m² – 44m².

Mountain Facing Rooms

  • Their Mountain Facing Rooms offer inspiring views over the ever awake Alfred Basin and majestic Table Mountain. They offer a total of 34 Mountain Facing Rooms. The average room size is 38m² – 44m².

Child Policy

Children of all ages are most welcome at the V&A Hotel. Children under 2 years sharing with adults are accommodated on a complimentary basis. Children over the age of 2 and under 12 (maximum of 1) per room sharing with adults pay a children under 12 rate. We recommend that children over the age of 16 be accommodated in a separate room. Inter-leading rooms are available on request.
